In collaboration with a consortium of insurance underwriters—and with regulatory support from the National Agricultural Insurance Commission (NAIC)—we have introduced three innovative agricultural insurance products: the NIRSAL Area Yield Index Insurance (AYII), the NIRSAL Comprehensive Index Insurance (NCII), and the NIRSAL Hybrid Multi-Peril Crop Insurance. These products were specifically designed to address the unique risks faced by Nigerian crop farmers, strengthening their resilience against climate and market-related risks.
Our work is effectively addressing the mismatch between pre-existing insurance products and contemporary field risks. We are therefore reshaping agricultural risk management in Nigeria by leading the design, development, and promotion of innovative, affordable, and tailored insurance solutions.
